North Carolina Ranger Corps

The North Carolina Ranger Corps (NCRC) is a statewide civil defense organization consisting of highly trained and well-equipped volunteers from North Carolina.  The NCRC works with communities, schools, church groups, civic organizations, and businesses to provide emergency preparedness education and disaster mitigation services to help prevent against devastating loss during a natural or man-made disaster.

Through county-level units, the NCRC also provides assistance to the citizens of North Carolina  before, during, and after a natural or man-made disaster.  The NCRC also offers resources and manpower to local, state and federal authorities, when requested, in s to a state-wide or regional emergency.

Every North Carolina citizen age 17 to 70 can become a North Carolina Ranger  regardless of ethnicity, gender, religion, political affiliation, habit and/or creed.  The title of North Carolina Ranger is earned and never given to those who want to serve North Carolina in this organization.  We seek individuals who have a willingness to accept and overcome challenges, work in team structured environments, and are called to assist their neighbors and communities to prepare for any eventuality.

Through local, state and federal programs, each North Carolina Ranger is able to receive training in several skill paths to determine their role and function with the NCRC.  Whether you choose to join the Rangers or not, we encourage every citizen to work to prepare themselves, their families, and their communities for an emergency situation.  We encourage you to utilize the resources on this website to assist in preparations for the next hurricane, ice storm, or even for emergencies of a more severe nature.

We also encourage every citizen, regardless of whether you are a North Carolina Ranger or not, to carry the message of personal preparedness into your communities, schools, and churches to help others to prepare. Without citizen's being  involved in their own emergency preparedness, local, state, and federal emergency agencies will fail to meet the challenges of need during a crisis or emergency.

Please feel free to contact the North Carolina Ranger Corps for more information on how to prepare.  The NCRC has programs to assist businesses, schools, churches, and community with the actions needed to prepare for an emergency event.  We can be reached at This e-mail address is being protected from spambots.
